When you concede control of your life to the ever-unreeling dance of the Universe, when you begin to trust in the inherent 'rightness' and rhythm of things, it's absolutely astonishing where you find yourself.
A month or so I was in a full-fledged financial panic, my job prospects seemed slim at best, and I questioned if the path I was on career-wise was even, in fact, where I wanted to be.
By working very hard not to hang on to the reins, by doing my best to set aside my ego and sense of self-importance, and by trying to remain open and present, I find myself afoot on a remarkable journey.
There is much grace in the constancy of change if we meet our days with gratitude rather than fear.
As my mentors and guides assured me they would, my finances worked out--they always do, one way or another--this time they worked out comfortably in my favor. For that I am thankful...
Also, a fantastic new job/service opportunity has presented itself. One I was not expecting nor anticipating, and one that effortlessly fell into place every step of the way. Again, much gratitude.
Now the kicker--this opportunity, which I am honored to have, happens to come with a large number of challenges. Challenges, I suspect, that will ask me to step out of my comfort zones, to stretch and grow, to meet demands that are unfamiliar and uncomfortable. But even for that, I am grateful.
With each day that passes, I discover a new bit of joy in the fact that since 'it's not all about me', I get to be a part of it all. Such wonder, such sublime, harrowing beauty, such soul-trembling, aching radiance exists all around us. Waking up just a little, it's incredible to see how narrow and constricting the prison of self-will truly is.
So a new adventure awaits. I begin in earnest this coming Monday. I'm humbled if not a bit daunted by the task before me. But I'll trust, through all those powers seen and unseen, all will work out exactly as it is supposed to. I count myself lucky to be in a place to enjoy the ride.
Passion, beauty, and love, folks--24 hours at a time...
